A conventional panel has glass on the front and a plastic film on the back. That film ages: it discolours, lets moisture through and loses its insulating power over the years.
In a glass-glass module the cell package sits between two layers of glass. There is no film that can age. That makes the module less sensitive to moisture, ammonia and temperature swings, and it is the reason manufacturers dare to give longer performance warranties on them.
Output per panel: [TO BE CONFIRMED] Wp. The number of panels depends on your roof; an average Flemish home has room for ten to twenty modules.
Product warranty: 30 years. Performance warranty: 30 years, with a guaranteed 88 percent output after 30 years. Both run through ADW, not through a foreign call centre.
A fully black version is available, for roofs where appearance matters.
We do not give a price based on an aerial photo. We come out, measure the roof, look at orientation, pitch, roof windows, chimneys and shade, and check your electrical installation.
You then get a layout showing where every panel goes, a calculated annual output and a payback time worked out on your own usage.
A north-facing or partly shaded roof does not rule out solar panels, but it does lower the output. With optimisers or a hybrid inverter the damage stays limited, because a panel in shade then does not hold back the whole string.
If your roof really is unfavourable, we tell you, rather than selling you something that will never pay for itself.
