From aluminium joinery to solar energy.
DE WOLF A & K is a family business: the "A" stands for André, the founder, and the "K" for Koen, his son and today's managing director. The company is based at Keistraat 3 in Nukerke, a district of Maarkedal.
The year VAT was introduced, André De Wolf decided to start out on his own with an aluminium joinery workshop. An agreement was made with Gheisler-Lignian of Brussels as profile supplier.
That firm moved to Landen and became Gheisler, then changed name several times more — Sidal, Hoogovens — before everything was sold to Remi Claeys, who folded it into his RC-systems.
Son Koen joins the business, and in 1996 the sole proprietorship becomes a BV under the name De Wolf A & K constructies.
Where anodised profiles were originally used mostly for windows and doors, the range broadened: windows, doors and verandas in anodised aluminium profiles and in every colour imaginable. For the glazing, the most sophisticated modern insulating techniques are used.
Interior finishing is handled by the firm as well, as is the fitting of roller shutters with or without automation, automatic controls on existing shutters, sun protection, balcony enclosures and sectional or other garage doors. In short: a contemporary, modern business able to handle the most difficult and complex work in modern construction techniques. Worthy, therefore, of every client's trust!
Koen watched demand for solar energy grow year after year and made a deliberate choice: to put half a century of building craftsmanship behind a single specialism. Since then ADW has focused exclusively on solar — solar panels, smart batteries, inverters, energy management and EV chargers. The same family, the same crew, the same standards — now with one goal: letting your home generate its own energy.
